Palestinian gov't platform vows Islamic tolerance

An official English-language translation, released on Sunday, of the policy document said that Fayyad's administration would build a clear-cut strategy to "enhance the status of Islam as a religion of tolerance". At the same time, the platform said, the government would prevent "the use of Islam to justify killings, exclusion of others and destruction".

Durchaus eine wichtige Veränderung [falls sie tatsächlich real umgesetzt wird]. Eine der großen Schwächen der 2003er-Verfassung ist eben das islamische Primat, das seinerzeit der Renaissance der Hamas und der antipluralistischen Kräfte Rechnung trug. Nun möchte man also seitens der Fayyad-Regierung dieses Primat und die Bevölkerungsteile zu Toleranz per Dekret "umerziehen". Ein taktisches Schnäppchen das der Vorliebe von Arafat für religiöse Mitkämpfer einen Riegel vorschieben soll. Der Haken liegt nicht nur in der realen Umsetzung solcher Gesetzestexte. Man darf gerne das deutsche Beispiel "Antisemitismus" verwenden um darzustellen das die gesetzliche Ächtung und Bestrafung keineswegs zur "Ausrottung" von Intoleranz ausreicht. Der größere Haken ist das man die schönenen Texte der palästinensischen Verfassungen eigentlich nie richtig umgesetzt hat. Das Tragen von Waffen ist dem nicht durch die Regierung beauftragten nicht erlaubt und trotzdem besitzen eigentlich alle welche. Weitaus bedenklicher ist das man als Staat nicht mit Minderheiten [wie der islamistischen] politisch motiviert umgehen kann. Die Fatah, die seinerzeit siegesgewiß die Wahl verlor weil sie den Gegner unterschätzte möchte die nächste Wahl gewinnen in dem sie seine politische Betätigung aller Orten beschneidet. Permanenter Verfassungsbruch, kurzsichtig, eine future-Spekulation: Wenns gut geht dann kann sich die Fatah als Partei re-institutionalisieren [wie das ausehen kann zeigt das schöne Beispiel der "Bekämpfung der Folter": In der Westbank sind die Fälle von Folter in den Jahren ab 2000 dramatisch gesunkenn, weil ... Wenns schlecht geht hat man im "Kern-Fatahland" eine breite, gewaltbereite Minderheit, die man quält und bekämpft und die latent versuchen wird die Regierung zu schwächen. Das nächste Problem ist die bislang nicht erkennbare Reform der Fatah-Bewegung.
