Lador to replace Shendar

Israel and the Palestinians have agreed to a new plan that skips over the first stage of the road map - eliminating terror and dismantling the settlements - according to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, in his appearance before the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. [Ich hörtre schon die Dementis anrauschen.]

The Israel Defense Forces will conduct a major exercise next week simulating a widespread escalation of Israeli-Palestinian fighting in the West Bank. However, the only actual escalation on Monday was in internal Palestinian fighting: At least seven people were killed and 55 wounded in exchanges of fire between Hamas forces and Fatah supporters in the Gaza Strip. All of the fatalities were either Fatah members or passersby. Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas blamed Hamas, terming its actions "an abominable crime.", Amos Harel, "Hamas is loosing grip in Gaza...", Kershner/el-Khodary, "Rally for Arafat turns deadly in Gaza"

Shas will safeguard the interests of Israel and will not allow any part of Jerusalem to be ceded to the Palestinians, including Arab neighborhoods, said Shas spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef during a talk Monday with opposition leader MK Binyamin Netanyahu (Likud) about the Annapolis summit. "We will stem the tide of irresponsible behavior," Yosef assured Netanyahu.

High Court of Justice Hearing scheduled for Monday, 12.11.07, at 11.30 regarding eleven patients in life-threatening condition who are refused exit from Gaza. [Seltsam.

Und zu Letzt: A new study by congressional Democrats says "hidden costs" have driven the price of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to about $1.5 trillion, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday.
