Last week at Labour's annual conference, a forum where Blair usually shines, he had to placate grumpy delegates with a tepid semi-apology for the Iraq war; "I acknowledge and accept" that the intelligence about weapons of mass destruction was wrong, he said, but "I can't, sincerely at least, apologize for removing Saddam. [McAllister, "The heart of Labour"] "The trouble with a large part of the Western world is that we're in a state of semi-apology the whole time, and that's an absolutely hopeless position from which to take this thing on... A large part of public opinion in the West is basically saying, 'We have caused this. It's our fault they're like this.' I just think that's nonsense." [Tony Blair, "Interview"]

Gut, das er als Staatstheorethiker im Mittelalter stecken geblieben ist, dafür ist nun wirklich nicht die böse Heimatfront verantwortlich sondern das englische Schulsystem. Aber ein bisschen mehr logischen Saft hätte man doch in der Grütze vermutet: Wenn die Heimatfront die wachrüttelnde Idee von Gerechtigkeit, etc. wahr nimmt und gegen Kriege aus interessenpolitischen Gründen [die den Mächtigen doch gereade eben und zuvor latent um die Ohren fliegen] demonstriert dann ist es die Heimatfront die diese Idee verbreitet und nicht die Interessenpolitiker. Das Blair dabei die Bush-Order vom "Preemtive Strike" zu einem "Necessary Strike" umtauft ist nicht etwa wie er versucht ein plötzlich entstandener Einklang zu den idealistischen Zielen der Demokratie, sondern verbleibt ihr genauer Gegensatz. Der Aussagenstrang zum Thema "Annapolis" bestätigt nur die bereits geäußerten zusätzlichen Zweifel an der Redlichkeit des Tony B.. Konkrete Aussagen fehlen vollständig: "Mein Plan, den ich mit Brown vorgelegt habe hat bei den Saudis....". "Meine Einschätzungen die ich den Verhandlungspartnern vorgelegt habe sind .... aufgenommen worden." In jedem einzelnen Satz steckt ein wundervoll lanciertes aber leicht zu entdeckendes Propagandakonstrukt : die Israelis sollen sich hinter der optimistischen Art von Ehud Olmert sammeln [siehe Konstrukt "necessary strike" + "galvanising idea"]. Mit solchen Zirkelschlüssen und dem obligatirischen "an-poodeln" der Israelis ["Also wenn ich jetzt der Abbas wäre, dann würde ich wissen das ich das Recht auf Rückkehr aufgeben müßte."] soll das absolute Scheitern des Projekts "Annapolis" [für das es immer noch keinen Termin gibt] verschleiert werden. Besonders beim cross-read des Interviews mit der JP wird dies ersichtlich. Ein Beispiel: "We need to build the Palestinian capability particularly on security so that bit by bit the suffocating pressure of the occupation on the Palestinian side is lifted that’s what we’ve got to do. That’s the only way the economy can start to breathe and people can start to hope." + "At the same time, however, Blair stressed Israel should not "yield" at all on security." Entsprechend "vertagend" sind die heutigen Aussagen zum Rice-Besuch:

Die Verwalter des Status Quo aalen sich in Finanztransfers und dem bekämpfen der politischen Gegner und erklären diese extrem schwache Leistung zum ultimativen Schritt in den Frieden.]

Er ist damit beschäftigt Truppenübungen abzuhalten und seinen Aktionsradius zu erweitern. Er wird sich nicht mit angekündigten Gefangenen-Freilassungen und Friedensverhandlungen an denen er nicht teilnehmen darf behindern lassen.
