[reuters: Drei Verletzte] Politisch ist die Aktion als eher unglücklich zu werten. Die Attacken des Islamic Jihad nach der Shahade-Tötung in Bethlehem waren vollständig abgeflaut. Viele Kommentatoren sehen in der Shahada-Tötung die Ablehnung der IDF bezüglich eines jetzigen Waffenstillstands.] Im Grundsatz läßt man außer Acht das die recht plumpen Luftangriffe nicht den einzigen gangbaren Weg nicht ersetzen können: Entweder man läßt die Hamas sich politisch betätigen dann darf man nicht attackieren. Wenn sie sich nicht betätigen soll muß man den Gazastreifen zurück erobern. Es ist zu befürchten das die politische Führung Israels weiterhin nicht bereit ist in dieser Sache eine Entscheidung zu treffen. Damit ist auch das "Bantustan-Projekt" in der Westbank das man gemeinhin als palästinensischen Staat bezeichnet auf St. Nimmerlein verschoben.
