Weshalb man eine Rakete, die auf Sderot geschossen wird nicht abschießen kann liegt in der kurzen Zeitspanne begründet. Eine Rakete auf Ashkelon ist jedoch über eine 1/4-Stunde unterwegs. Eine Ewigkeit, die israelische Radiologen nutzen um der Rakete beim Fliegen untätig zuzusehen. Die internen Abnutzungserscheinungen, die im command bis runter in die Einheiten sich hier zeigen resultieren aus der gestern schon erwähnten richtigen Annahme das Zufallstreffer nicht verhinderbar sind. Häufen sich die Zufallstreffer [wie heute auf eine Synagoge] darf man annehmen das die Qassam-Einheiten aus den Fehlern die Streuungen adaptieren und die Ziele bewußter aussuchen. Einerseits der fatalistische Ansatz der Gewöhnung und andererseits die unerträgliche Fehlkalkulation man könne die Hamas-Regierung mit einer Blockade "entmilitarisieren" deuten an das der Grad an intellektuellem Kapital das in die Geschichte investiert wird am unteren ende der Skala sitzt. Ein strukturelles Problem der IDF/IAF: Man sitzt am Supergehirncomputer und spioniert mit höchstem technischem Aufand allerhand Länder aus, simuliert weitläufige Attacken auf gewisse Atomanlagen fremder Länder. Als erstes wurden die größten jemals abgehaltene Manöver der an einer Occupation beteiligten Armeeteile auf den Sonntag angekündigt. Seit etwa einem 3/4-Jahr geht es so: Fordern, Üben, Abblasen. Verschiedenste Versionen, von Gaza-Teilung, Wiedereroberung, "nogo"-Zone 2 Meilen, extralegaler Tötung von Hamasniks usw. wurde alles besprochen und immer wieder behauptet man habe "grünes Licht" bekommen. Nur geschehen ist nichts. Dies deutet nur daraufhin das man keinerlei Ahnung hat was zu tun ist und wenn man jetzt etwas unternimmt wird man planlos und erfolglos im Gaza-Sand enden. Noch ein letztes Wort zum Thema Katyusha: Man hat bei der ganzen Sache vergessen das die Behauptungen eine BM21-Modifikation iranischer Bauart würde latent auf israelsiches Gebiet geschossen den kleinen Nachteil aufweisen das diese Gattung ... chemical warhead fähig ist. Man stelle sich mal vor die Hamas hätte den Fallafelstand vor dem Mall damit getroffen.

Über 15 Personen werden teiwlweise schwer verletzt. Israel is interested in quiet even more than Hamas, because Iran (which is supporting Hamas) increases its involvement in the region the more the ground is burning. A peace agreement with Hamas is not in the cards, so all that can be wished for is a cease-fire that lasts, however long it lasts. We will always be able to return to the current situation.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Monday that Israel would not be able to avoid a wide military operation in the Gaza Strip, unless Palestinian militants cease firing rockets and carrying out terror attack on Israelis. Barak passed this message on to Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman, who arrived in the region on Monday to present Cairo's proposal for a cease-fire between Israel and Gaza. In der Westbank kommt es zu den gewöhnlichen massiven Auseinandersetzungen in allen relevanten Bezirken: Etwa 27 Pälästinenser werden bei Einsätzen der IDF verletzt, sieben verhaftet, dabei kommt es auch zu einer Mißhandlung an einem Checkpoint. Der palästinensische Journalistenverband fordert von der ramallahnsichen Regierung die Freilassung mehrerer inhaftierter Journalisten, die zum Teil seit Monaten wegen Hamas-Nähe inhaftiert sind. Weitere Verhaftungen werden von der PHCR verurteilt. Etwa 6 Hamas-Mitglieder werden durch die PA zusätzlich verhaftet. In der Westbank kommt es zu den gewöhnlichen massiven Auseinandersetzungen in allen relevanten Bezirken: Etwa 27 Pälästinenser werden bei Einsätzen der IDF verletzt, sieben verhaftet, dabei kommt es auch zu einer Mißhandlung an einem Checkpoint. Der palästinensische Journalistenverband fordert von der ramallahnsichen Regierung die Freilassung mehrerer inhaftierter Journalisten, die zum Teil seit Monaten wegen Hamas-Nähe inhaftiert sind. Weiterhin sehr labil zeigt sich die Lage im Libanon auch wenn nach poltischen Zugeständnissen an die revoltierende Hezbollah-Bewegung die Meinung gilt das das Schlimmste vorüber sei. Im Verlauf der Kämpfe vornehmlich im District Aley zwischen PSP [Progressive Socialist Party] von Walid Jumblatt und Hezbollah erhöhte sich die Opferanzahl auf zwischenzeitlich 42 Tote und 164 Verletzte. Die Todesopfer dürften zum Großteil Bewaffnete gewesen sein. Auf Seiten der Hezbollah hatten auch drusische Einheiten unter "Democratic Party"-Führer Arslan teilgenommen. Während in Beirut die Straßen durch ein massives Aufgebot der Armee beruhigt sind kommet es landesweit zu Auseinandersetzungen in denen auch Regierungs-Loyalisten des "Future Movement" aktiv werden: So werden in der Akkar-Region 14 Personen, darunter einige Zivilisten getötet, zumeist bei dem Sturme des FM auf ein Headquarter der Syrian Social Nationalist Party [SSNP] in Halba. Politischer ausgedrückt sind die territorialen Konzepte der einzelenen Minderheiten aus verschiedener ideologischer Reichtung überstrapaziert: Weder kann Israel eine "Jewish State"-Insel mit Hang zum Westbankland konfiszieren verbleiben, noch kann weder Hezbollah noch Hamas noch sonstwer alleinvertretend die vorhandenen Grenzen verwalten. Entmilitarisierung der als "Aussenpolitik" vollkommen falsch aufgefaßte Regionalpolitik als erstes Gebot und als Zweites ein gemeinsamens Verwalten der eigentlichen Kerninteressen der Einzelstaaten im Regionalverbund: Energie, Handel, Ressourcen. Wenn ständig nur das eine Dorf das andere attackiert damit das Dritte und Vierte behaupten kann es müsse sich möglichst viele Waffen ansammeln um sich zu schützen paßt nicht in das eigentliche Machtgefüge das eine technologische und wirtschaftspolitische Vorreiterrolle der Israelis vorsieht and der die anderen Regionalmitglieder partzipieren müssen. Hier kommt es nicht auf territoriale Abzugs- oder Okkupationsbemühungen an, sondern auf umfassende Lösungen wie die halbwegs gerechte Lösung der Wasserfrage.

Als erstes vergebe ich den Award für den dümmsten Artikel über die Lage in Beirut an die Herrschaften [wer hätts gedacht] von stürmer.online.de für "in den Straßen patroullierende Scharfschützen, die Beirut zum Schweigen bringen". Das Fachwissen auch hier sich auf Boulevard beschränkt [Der letzte Artikel über Beirut ging um plastische Genitalchirurgie] erkennt man in der Fotostrecke. Dort sieht man zwar keinen einzigen sniper dafür aber ein "In der linanesischen Hauptstadt". Wohl nicht verantwortlich ist die Autorin Irina Prentice, die von den Effekthaschern bei stürmer.online.de veralbert wurde.

IDF kills One
Das die Feierlichkeiten zu Israels 60tem Geburtstag endlich zelebriert werden tragen die gute Nachricht in sich das die Feierlichkeiten damit bald wieder beendet sind. Gleichzeitig sehen Palästinenser wenig Grund zum Feiern. Israelische Araber fühlen sich wenig eingeladen. Blogger Lirun berichtet von einer Veranstaltung der Combatans for Peace. Und meine persönliche Meinung ist das der 70te Geburtstag hoffentlich was zum Feiern hergibt. Der 60te wirkt etwas sehr gequält.

Israel and Syria have been feeling out possible outlines for peace talks, mediated by Turkey, for some time. But Syrian president Bashar Assad reportedly wants Washington’s involvement, in order that it could negotiate to be taken off Washington’s list of state sponsors of terrorism. Washington has reportedly until recently blocked such talks, because it says Syria has not done enough to impede the flow of foreign insurgents and suicide bombers from Syria into Iraq, and has acted to destabilize the Lebanese government. Washington has recently appeared to withdraw that veto. So, one might speculate: perhaps Feltman met with Mustafa to give him the list of specific actions Washington would expect to see from Damascus in order to bless future possible negotiations. Thema des Tages in Israel hätte eigentlich der offizielle Start der Feierlichkeiten zum 60ten Israels mit einem "memorial service for Israel's Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terrorism" sein können. Bekanntlich Geschmackssache. Leider versauen unverschämte Pamphlete aus der paranoiden Blödheini-Ecke die Show und selbstverständlich ein Korruptionsskandal über den man in Israel nicht berichten darf, im Rest der Welt hingegen schon: A Long Island philanthropist and fundraiser for Israeli charities is at the center of an enveloping scandal around Israel’s prime minister, Ehud Olmert, that has riveted and agitated Israel despite a veil of secrecy over the ongoing investigation. The man, Morris Talansky, 75, was apparently approached by the Israeli authorities when he arrived at the Tel Aviv airport expecting to spend Passover with his daughter and son, who live in Jerusalem. It is unclear if Mr. Talansky is only a witness or also a suspect in the case. Momentan sieht die Geschichte nach einem isolierten Likud-Korruptionsskandal aus, dies würde also nur bedeuten das Olmert zurücktreten müßte, falls sich die Vorwürfe erhärten. Auf einem anderen Blatt steht das Drama um die Veröffentlichung der Ermittlungsergebnisse, das wahrlich kaum mit demokratischen Gepflogenheiten übereinstimmt. Police said Tuesday that leaks coming from the foreign media regarding the ongoing criminal investigation into Prime Minister Ehud Olmert "undermined" the gag order on the case and rendered it "losing its significance." Earlier Tuesday, State Prosecutor Moshe Lador said that the sweeping gag order, placed Friday on all details surrounding the case, would not be lifted before Independence Day, which begins Wednesday night and ends 24 hours later.
